# ShipStation: Create Order

> How to create an order in ShipStation

No matter the system, creating an order can be a slow and painstaking process. If the order is for an expedited replacement or an upset customer, it's even more important to move fast. With a properly built Flow guiding your team they can create new orders quickly and correctly every time.

The *ShipStation: Create Order* steptype can be left flexible for your team to create orders as needed, or can be buttoned down to only create orders under specific circumstances. Whatever you need, there's a way to make it faster and more accurate.

## Step Configuration

In addition to the general step configuration options, this step has the following specific options that can be configured.

### (Optional) Requested Shipping Service

If you prefer to use a specific shipping service connected to ShipStation, enter it here. If only one service is connected in ShipStation, it will be selected by default.

<Note>
  This can only be configured here within the steptype and cannot be selected by your team as they go through the workflow.
</Note>

### (Optional) Store ID

If there are multiple stores within your ShipStation instance, use this field to enter the Store ID where this order is sent from.

### Enable option to add return shipping label in order notes?

If this order is for a replacement item and the customer needs to return the original, check this box to add return instructions alongside the order. You will need to enter the Ship-To Address details (such as the name and address of your company or receiving warehouse) in the fields that appear when checked.

### Mark as \$0.00 paid order in ShipStation?

Check this box if you want to use this order to send a free replacement to the customer, rather than charging them.

### Create new customer record in ShipStation?

Check this box to automatically add a record for this customer to your ShipStation instance when creating their order.

### Filter products shown in Sidekick?

If you have a many products in your lineup, it can be a bit overwhelming for your team to select the model from a dropdown list - especially if there are minor differences between products with similar names or SKUs.

Instead, you can choose only a small set of products to offer to your team when creating an order. When used in conjunction with a *Decision Tree* steptype, we've had customers whittle down this list to just one filtered product, guaranteeing the right one is ordered every time.
