# Slack Steps

> Overview of the FlowEQ Slack integration and available steps

Slack is a team messaging and collaboration platform used to keep communication organized by channel. FlowEQ's Slack integration lets your team post messages to any Slack channel as part of a Flow in Sidekick.

## What You Can Do

* Post messages to any Slack channel

## Quick Tips

* **Pre-fill or leave open** — you can pre-configure the message content and channel in Flow Builder so they're locked in, or leave them editable so agents can customize the message at runtime in Sidekick.
* **Use @mentions** — enable the **Link Names** option in the step to support `@username` mentions in your message, which will trigger Slack notifications for the tagged person. Note that display names are case-sensitive.
* **Hide the channel field** — if you want agents posting to a fixed channel (like an alert channel), check **Hide Field in Sidekick** on the channel field to prevent agents from changing the destination.
