With the Create Universal Shipping Label steptype, you can create a label using any supported carrier (currently FedEx, USPS, and UPS) and any supported integration (EasyPost and ShipStation), enabling you to take advantage of your negotiated carrier rates. You can also use this new steptype to automatically select the right Package Preset based on data available in your CRM, avoiding the need for your team to select the right package size for the right product. To use this feature, you’ll need to use the Criteria feature in the Package Presets section below.Follow the guide below to configure the Create Universal Shipping Label steptype for your needs.
This steptype must follow a Verify Customer Info steptype in your Flow.If your team does not first complete a Verify Customer Info steptype before reaching this label creator, no valid address will be passed through, and so no shipping label will be created.
This text will appear up top when your team reaches this step in Sidekick. We recommend “Create a return shipping label” or something similar for your situation.
You can use this dropdown to decide whether the label should be inbound (provided to a customer to send a package to you) or outbound (used by you to send a package to a customer) This will determine how address information will be used to create the label.
Check this box to automatically advance to the next step in the Flow when the label has been created. If left unchecked, your team will need to click a manual Complete Step button in Sidekick to advance to the next step instead.
Check this box to set the upper-cost limit of shipping rate options in Sidekick. This option is helpful if you don’t want your team to create shipping labels above a specific value.
Check this box to select the cheapest shipping rate available automatically. If this box is checked, your team will not be presented with a list of shipping options. Note: USPS Media Mail shipping rates are always excluded and will never be used by this steptype.
Use this field to add details specific to this shipment, such as a customer name, ticket ID, or RMA number. Use the button on the right of the field to pull in details and variables from your CRM, case, or ticket. Note: Each carrier has its own character limit for this notes field. If your note exceeds this limit, the note will be cut off at this character limit automatically.
Use the button in the right of this field to pull in the customer’s name from your CRM, case or ticket if it wasn’t already collected in a proceeding Verify Customer Info steptype.
This section of the steptype is where you can create presets for each of the shipping sizes and weights of your packages, as well as configure the logic the steptype can use to select the right package based on available data from your CRM, case, or ticket.
Click the light bulb to use Criteria Logic to define under which conditions this particular package should be selected. You can configure Criteria Logic to look for particular values in your CRM fields.
