Generating PDFs is an addon for the FlowEQ platform. Please contact billing@floweq.com or your Customer Success Manager to enable this feature for your account or to learn more.
With FlowEQ, you can pass variables available in your CRM and other connected systems and place them directly into any custom document template with the PDF: Create from template steptype. Some examples of PDF templates include generating a letter to be automatically printed and mailed, legal documents and filings to be signed, or placing a return shipping label into a company-branded page for your customers to print out at home.

Title

The title appears up top in Sidekick when your team reaches this step in the Flow. Use this field to describe what type of document is being generated here.

Automatically run when step launched?

Check this box to automatically start generating the document immediately when your team reaches this step in the Flow.

Automatically complete when PDF available?

When a PDF is generated, you can give your team a chance to preview it or simply move on to the next step without opening the file. Check this box if you want the latter.

(Optional) Create a variable for the document ID

Use this field to give the link to the newly created PDF a variable name that can be used later in your Flows. This can be handy for rendering a PDF as a hyperlink within a message template. The variable name you set must be wrapped in variable headings to work properly in other steptypes. For example, if you give the PDF a variable name of invoiceyou will need this string to render the URL to that PDF <%= pdfId_invoice %>.

Select PDF Template

You will need to get in touch and share your document templates with FlowEQ for them to appear in this dropdown field.

Generated PDF Filename

Sets the default filename of the generated PDF. You can use the button to pull in variables from your CRM and other systems (like customer name or ticket number) in the filename too.

Enter Values

This section will not appear until you’ve selected an option in Select PDF Template.
  • Order
    • This arranges the order of the ticket fields if and when they’re presented to the user. To move a field up the list, choose a lower number, and conversely if you want a field lower down the list give it a higher number.
  • Field
    • Here you select from a dropdown menu which field from the PDF template you want to update.
  • Value
    • This is what you want to write in the corresponding field.
    • You can also use the button to pull in an available variable, as long as you’ve set up that separate integration in FlowEQ.
  • Hidden?
    • Checking this box will hide this field so that it won’t appear in Sidekick. This is useful when you know what the value should be already and the agent doesn’t have to double-check/edit this field each time.
  • Trash can
    • Use this red icon to delete an unnecessary field.
