Installing the Sidekick app within your CRM allows your team to run through the flows you build right from the case or ticket they're working on. Click on the link below for the steps for your particular CRM. Alternatively, you can install the Sidekick browser extension to run through flows from any website beyond your CRM.

Installing Sidekick in Zendesk
- Click here to open Sidekick in the Zendesk Marketplace
- Click Install
- In the popup that appears, select your Zendesk subdomain, then click Install.
- If you haven't already, log into your Zendesk account. Note that your Zendesk account will require sufficient permissions to install the Sidekick app successfully. If you don't have these permissions, contact your Zendesk administrator.
- (Optional) From the App Details page within Zendesk, you may configure the Sidekick app to be restricted to specific groups and roles if you like.
- Click the Install button at the bottom of the page.
- The FlowEQ Sidekick app will now appear in the My Apps category in Zendesk. Since your team will likely be using the Sidekick app a lot, you may want to arrange the app so it appears up top in the right panel next to tickets. To do this, click the Reorder apps button.
- Under Location, click Ticket, then click on the ⣿ dots next to the FlowEQ Sidekick app, and drag it to the top of the list. This will ensure the Sidekick app will appear up top in the right rail when your team handles a ticket. Alternatively, drag the app to any other position that suits your team best.
- When done, click the four squares in the top right, then click Support to return to your teams support tickets.
Installing Sidekick in Salesforce
The Sidekick app can only be installed natively into Salesforce Lightning pages. If you are using Salesforce Classic pages, you can still use FlowEQ Sidekick through our browser extensions by following their guides further below.
- Click here to open Sidekick in the Salesforce AppExchange
- Click the Get It Now button
- If you haven't already, log into your Salesforce instance. This guide assumes your Salesforce account has sufficient privileges to install the Sidekick app and place it on the Record page most important to you. If this isn't the case, you can contact your Salesforce administrator for help.
- At the "Where do you want to install this package?" window, select whether to install your Sidekick app in your Production or Sandbox environment.
- If you're unsure, you probably want Sandbox - a safe place to play around with the Sidekick app without worrying about causing issues for your other Salesforce users.
- If you want to jump right in and share Sidekick with your team right away, choose Production. This option will set up FlowEQ seats for you and your team, requiring you to choose a Pricing Plan and enter billing information to proceed. If you have questions before proceeding, let us know at support@floweq.com and we'll take care of you.
- When ready, review and approve our terms and conditions then click the Confirm and Install button. You may be prompted to log into your Salesforce account again.
- When you reach the Install FlowEQ screen, you can install the Sidekick app for Admins Only, All Users, or Specific Profiles. Select the best option for you, then click the Install button.
- When you see "Installation Complete!" click the Done button.
Adding Sidekick to your Lightning Page
- Now with the Sidekick app installed in your Salesforce instance, next, it must be added to the Lightning page where the app will be used most. It can be placed on any Lightning page, but for this guide, we'll assume you want to add it to the Case Record page in the Service app.
- After installing the Sidekick app, you were likely dropped off on the Installed Packages page. From here, click the Object Manager tab.
- Click Case
- In the left panel, click Lightning Record Pages
- If you have an existing Lightning layout, select it here. Otherwise, click the New button in the top right.
- If you need to create a new Lightning page, we recommend these settings:
- Page type - Record Page
- Label - Case
- Object - Case
- Select Clone Salesforce Default Page > Case Record View for Lightning Console
- If you need to create a new Lightning page, we recommend these settings:
- We recommend placing the Sidekick app on the right panel. This tends to be the most intuitive place for teams to access their flows, giving the center panel the main focus and the left panel enough space for useful details. Move your mouse cursor in the right panel, and click the top blue plus button. This will prompt you to select a new component to add to the Record page.
- Next, you will need to select the new component to add from the left panel. Scroll down to the bottom of the list to the Custom - Managed section, and click FlowEQ Sidekick.
- The Sidekick app should appear in the top right corner of the Case Record Lightning page. Rearrange if necessary and when done, click the blue Save button in the top right corner.
- In the Page Saved window, click Activate, then configure how widely you want to distribute this new Lightning page across your Salesforce instance. When done, click the Save button.
- To test your new Case Record page, click your profile icon in the top right corner, then your email address under USERNAMES.
- From here, click the Cases tab, then open any case. This should load the case in your new Lightning view with your FlowEQ Sidekick app installed. You'll need to log into your Sidekick app to finish the process. The app may also appear minimized to save space. In this case, click on it to expand it to full size as needed.
