With the Create Universal Shipping Label steptype, you can create a label using any supported carrier (currently FedEx, USPS, and UPS) and any supported integration (EasyPost and ShipStation, more to be added soon), enabling you to take advantage of your negotiated carrier rates.
You can also use this new steptype to automatically select the right Package Preset based on data available in your CRM, avoiding the need for your team to select the right package size for the right product. To use this feature, you'll need to use the Criteria feature in the Package Presets section below.
Follow the guide below to configure the Create Universal Shipping Label steptype for your needs.
Warning
This steptype must follow a Verify Customer Info steptype in your flow.
If your team does not first complete a Verify Customer Info steptype before reaching this label creator, no valid address will be passed through, and so no shipping label will be created.
Title
This text will appear up top when your team reaches this step in Sidekick. We recommend "Create a return shipping label" or something similar for your situation.
Shipping Service
Use this dropdown to select the shipping integration you set up earlier in the Integrations Lab.
Label Type
You can use this dropdown to decide whether the label should be inbound (provided to a customer to send a package to you) or outbound (used by you to send a package to a customer) This will determine how address information will be used to create the label.
Auto complete step when label returned
Check this box to automatically advance to the next step in the flow when the label has been created. If left unchecked, your team will need to click a manual Complete Step button in Sidekick to advance to the next step instead.
Require signature at delivery
Check this box to require this package to be signed for upon delivery.
Remove carrier rates exceeding a certain amount
Check this box to set the upper-cost limit of shipping rate options in Sidekick. This option is helpful if you don't want your team to create shipping labels above a specific value.
Auto select cheapest shipping rate
Check this box to select the cheapest shipping rate available automatically. If this box is checked, your team will not be presented with a list of shipping options. Note: USPS Media Mail shipping rates are always excluded and will never be used by this steptype.
