When using the Zendesk integration with FlowEQ, an access token is needed for FlowEQ to be able to perform certain actions. Generally, we will use the current agent’s token to run steps. In some situations, we need to have a company level account in order to perform actions on your behalf. This account should be a service account or an account whose permissions will not frequently change.

FlowEQ will use the company level account for the following situations:

  • If using Workboard with an Auto-Run Flow configured, we will use the company level account for any Zendesk steps
  • In some situations, we will use the company level account when running some Zendesk steps
    • This will only occur if the agent has not logged out of FlowEQ and logged in again to next.floweq.com at least one time

Configuration

Due to the nature of Zendesk oauth, you will need to have the username and password for your desired account. This can be done by logging in as your own user to FlowEQ or by having the account’s login to FlowEQ to create a FlowEQ user. Our recommendation is to use a service account within Zendesk. This will ensure a specific person is not tied to the account. Please note that the service account will consume a license in FlowEQ.

  1. Navigate to the Zendesk Integration
  2. Review the existing company level account and determine if you want to use it or swap to another user
  3. Click the “Zendesk Login” button
  4. If you’re already logged into Zendesk, you are all set! Otherwise, login to Zendesk with your preferred account
